Schools
  • George Salter Academy finished second in both U14 & U16 Sections at the West Midlands Regional Schools Tournament.
  • King Edward VI College Stourbridge were the winners of the U19 Section of the West Midlands Regional Schools Tournament.
  • A good number of South Staffordshire athletes represented Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School (Birmingham) who were runners-up in the U19 Section of the West Midlands Regional Schools Tournament.
  • All the above schools competed in the National Schools Finals.

Academies
  • Last year’s U14 Satellite Academy won their section of the Regional Versatility Tournament, with the U16 County Academy being placed a very creditable 4th in the U16 Tournament.
  • This season, South Staffordshire athletes make up over one-third (35%) of the Regional Academies.

Junior Clubs
  • West Bromwich U14s won the Regional Junior League U14 Final.
  • Yendys U16s were losing Finalists in the Regional Junior League U16 Final, after winning their semi-final against West Bromwich U16s.
  • The two teams above competed in the National Finals on 24th May.
  • County Junior League – 21 teams took part this year (13 teams in 2008).
  • County Youth Festival – 20 teams took part this year (10 teams in 2009).
  • A new aspect of the Youth Leagues is the increasing number of U12 teams.
