High 5 Workshop - For Teachers

This workshop will allow attendee’s to learn more about the game of High 5, the skills involved and how to get High 5 up and running in their school or club.  The workshop will examine everything from the philosophy and principles of High 5, effective warm up and cool down, the basic netball skills needed to play High 5 including movement skills, passing, catching and shooting through to the organisation of a High 5 game.  Teachers/ coaches will have the opportunity to take part in a game of high 5 along with exploring the other support roles involved in High 5 rotations including scorer, centre pass marker and time keeper. 
The workshop will also address the rules of High 5 and give attendee’s the opportunity to umpire a High 5 game in action and gain confidence in officiating the game. This three-hour practical workshop is accompanied by a DVD covering all you need to know about the skills of the game; handy skills cards to use during sessions, High 5 rotation sheets, centre pass marker and score cards, and a rule book to help you and your players become more familiar with the game.

Young Netball Organiser - For Young People

The aim of this 6 hour course is to offer young people aged 14 - 18 years the opportunity to take the first step on the coaching, officiating or administration Netball ladder.

It prepares them to organise safe, enjoyable and purposeful Netball sessions for 7 - 11 year olds, under the supervision of a teacher or coach.

Into Officiating Course

Get involved in officiating netball through the new Into Officiating Umpire Award. This course introduces the principals of umpiring and the rules of netball and can be delivered by a teacher. Perfect for those over the age of 13 that want to officiate at the local level or in a school environment.

This award consists of a 6 hour workshop and is led by a teacher or England Netball tutor. Once the learners have had time to put their new skills into action they can then be assessed by an England Netball Umpire Assessor in order to achieve the qualification.
 

Key Course Objectives
  • To improve your understanding of the rules of netball
  • To gain generic umpiring skills
  • To provide basic knowledge to undertake umpiring at netball matches
  • Be able to keep an accurate scorecard
  • Understand the requirements to progress along the officials pathway

Coach Workshops

These 3-4 hour practical coaching workshops are aimed at providing club coaches and teachers who are regularly planning sessions with a better understanding of specific areas of player and game development, the toolkit required to analyse and correct technique, and fresh ideas for building practices and sessions. 

The series of workshops have been carefully designed to complement the qualifications pathway (UKCC) and Excel Framework.

Candidates are provided with high-quality resources and coaching cards to take away and use in their own coaching environments and are actively encouraged to participate in the activities during the workshops.
