Black Country School Games 2016

​This year, the annual summer School Games were held on Friday 17th June at Walsall Campus Sports Centre. With 11 High 5 teams & 9 Year 7 teams we were set for a busy day of netball. 
Both the High 5 and Year 7 netball competitions were played along side each other and the teams were spilt into two pools. After some exciting section matches, the scores were added up and the winner and runner up from each group battled for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the semi-finals & final.

​4th - Milking Bank Primary
​We also awarded two players as ‘Girl of the Game’ and ‘Man of the Match’ for their brilliant performance throughout the event. Girl of the Game was – Abi from Reedswood and Man of the Match was – George from Moat Farm

4th - Wolverhampton Girls High
​Aleesha from George Salter Academy was also awarded as ‘Player of the Tournament’ for her great performance throughout the tournament. 
Congratulations to all the schools that entered and a big thank you to the Volunteers and Umpires from local clubs, George Salter Academy & Wolverhampton Grammar. 

Goalden Globe Awards 2016

On Friday 17th June, Netball West Midlands hosted the annual Goalden Globe Awards, celebrating the West Midlands volunteers at Villa Park, Birmingham. In total there were 5 nominees from South Staffordshire represented, and much to everyone’s surprise two very excited winners on the night!
 
And the winners are….
  • Mike Wilkinson, Mary Bulloch Award
  • Libra Lea Netball Club, Outstanding club of the Year
 
Both Regional winners will now go forward to represent the West Midlands at the National Awards.
 
From South Staffordshire, many congratulations on your success and good luck at nationals!
